This project builds upon the principles already established at the Hotel on Rue Archereau in Paris. The ground is shaped into undulations with three objectives: technical, as these reliefs allow for increased soil height in the paved areas; ecological, as they create variations in slopes, soil heights, humidity, and thus micro-habitats conducive to biodiversity; and aesthetic, as their regular design expresses the anthropogenic nature of the gardens. The gardens are planted with native species, and management is minimal, taking a hands-off approach. However, the soil is regulated, and the plantings are chosen and organized according to the functions and conditions of each space. The interest of the gardens lies in the duality between a setup marked by human intervention and the natural development in which they are allowed to thrive.
